La Plata Man Killed, Wyanconda Man Hurt in NEMO Traffic Crashes

One man is killed and another is injured in separate traffic crashes in Northeast Missouri Friday.

A La Plata man is killed in a single vehicle crash on Highway 63 in La Plata at 4:20 p.m. Friday.

The Highway Patrol reports 72 year old William Stites was southbound when his pickup ran off the road and overturned.

Stites was pronounced dead at the scene by the Macon County Coroner.

A Wyaconda man suffers moderate injuries in a single vehicle crash on Clark County Route A north of Wyaconda at 7:35 p.m. Friday.

The Highway Patrol reports 21 year old Lane Burr was southbound when he lost control of his SUV. The vehicle crossed the center line, ran off the road and struck an embankment.

Burr was taken to Scotland County Hospital in Memphis for treatment.
