Arrest Follows Eight Macon County Fires

Macon County Sheriff’s deputies report an arrest following a series of fires.
Sheriff Kevin Shoemaker says 31 year old Tracy Stephenson of Macon was arrested Wednesday on five counts of second degree arson and three counts of knowingly burning or exploding. The arrest follows a call about a grass fire southeast of Macon. A witness saw a vehicle leave the scene and obtained a license number. Investigators found lighters and bottles and noticed the smell of gasoline inside the vehicle. Authorities say Stephenson admitted setting eight fires in the Macon area. Stephenson is held in the Macon County Jail on 50-thousand dollars cash only bond.
