The defense called its final witness in the Curtis Lovelace murder trial Wednesday morning.

The final witness for the defense was Chicago pathologist Dr. Shaku Teas. She testified she found no evidence that Cory Lovelace died of suffocation. She said that if she had done the autopsy, she would have concluded that Cory Lovelace died of chronic alcoholism and died a natural death.

The defense rested its case just before noon. Closing arguments are set for Thursday morning.
