The Adams County State’s Attorney’s office has dropped animal cruelty charges against a Quincy veterinarian.

State’s Attorney Gary Farha says his office will abide by a plea agreement made between his predecessor and Dr. Andrew Kaiser.

Former State’s Attorney Jon Barnard told Kaiser that if he voluntarily surrendered his license to the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, the animal cruelty charges that had been filed against him would be dropped.

The state suspended Kaiser’s license in January for at least three years.
Dr. Kaiser owns Katherine Road Animal Hospital, and was under contract with the city of Quincy to take care of animals handled by the city’s animal control department.
