Adams County officials have taken action to make sure non-essential businesses close down in light of Governor Pritzker’s stay at home order.

The Adams County Health Department and the Adams County State’s Attorney’s office have sent out over a dozen cease and desist letters since Monday, directing these businesses to comply with the governor’s order.

Among the businesses receiving letters Tuesday were the Quincy Country Club, Spring Lake Country Club and Whispering Oaks Campground.

Officials had received multiple complaints from the public about these and other businesses continuing to operate.

Governor Pritzker’s stay at home order became effective March 21st and is set to expire at the end of April.
