Emergency personnel rescued a driver from rising waters caused by heavy rains in Pike County, Illinois Saturday morning.

Pike County Sheriff’s deputies received a call that a vehicle was stuck in Kiser Creek at 290th Avenue. The caller advised that her car was filling with water and she couldn’t get out.

Deputies advised the driver to get on top of the car and wait for help.
Fire departments from Barry and Baylis, along with a road grader from the Hadley Creek Road Commission, got the woman to safety.

Pike County Sheriff David Greenwood reminds motorists that, with the coming of spring and the rainy season, this incident serves as a reminder to never drive into flood waters.
