The Missouri Department of Transportation has reopened the Champ Clark Bridge at Louisiana.

Officials with MODOT and IDOT closed Highway 54 on the Illinois side of the bridge at 10 p.m. Sunday because of the rising Mississippi River.

The announcement of the reopening of the bridge came about 4 a.m. Monday.

The river crested at 23.79 at Louisiana about 7 a.m. Monday and forecasters are calling for a slow fall.
