The Design-Build Institute of America has announced the Champ Clark Bridge replacement project has received a national design award.

Along with four others, the bridge was named a project of merit in the transportation category.

The bridge and other selected projects now advance to consideration for the DBIA National Award of Excellence and Project of the Year awards, which will be announced later this year.

The new Champ Clark Bridge opened about a year ago, replacing the old bridge that had been in service since 1928.
