There is a delay in today's planned demolition of the last two trusses of the old Champ Clark Bridge.

MODOT and Massman Construction announced Sunday night that the explosions to drop the spans into the Mississippi River are now scheduled between 11 a-m and 3 p-m. The new Champ Clark Bridge will be closed for about 45 minutes during the demolition process. Two spans were imploded a month ago. A span over the railroad tracks was dismantled in recent days. The old bridge was built in 1928 to carry US 54 across the Mississippi River. The new span opened to traffic in early August.
