Work is underway toward removal of the old Champ Clark Bridge at Louisiana.
Parts of the bridge are being dismantled in preparation for the bridge’s demolition during October. Plans are to use explosives to drop the old trusses into the Mississippi River. The old steel work will then be removed from the river. MODOT’s website has a webcam set up so you can see the project. This Saturday’s regular public meeting in Louisiana’s Riverview Park will include an update on the demolition work. The meeting starts at 10 a-m.
