An Iowa water skier sustained serious injuries at 2:45 Saturday afternoon on Long Branch Lake near Macon.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says a boat operated by 21 year old Richard Martin of Pulaski Iowa was stopped in the water as a skier was trying to board. The incident report says Martin put the vessel in gear and the propeller struck 17 year old Keith Garman of Mt. Sterling Iowa. Troopers say Garman was air evac’d to University Hospital in Columbia for serious injuries. The incident occurred on the west arm of the lake at the 4.5 mile marker.
