Two Injured in Highway Shooting in Cass County

Cass County authorities are investigating after a woman reported a gunman opened fire on her family's vehicle, injuring two people.

The Cass County Sheriff's Department said in a release Monday that a woman reported that a driver pulled up alongside her family's vehicle late Sunday and fired several rounds as they were traveling south on Interstate 49 outside Belton.

The woman's husband and a child were injured in the shooting and are in serious but stable condition.

The woman and another child were uninjured.

Authorities said there's no apparent motive for the shooting.
