One Dead Following Shooting in Northwest Quincy

A death investigation is underway in Quincy.
Quincy Police, Adams County Sheriff’s deputies and Adams County Ambulance crews were called to the 700 block of Cedar at 3:35 this (WE) morning for a shooting. On arrival officers found an individual suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity is withheld pending notification of family members. Police say a person of interest has been identified and detained. Preliminary investigation indicates this is not a random incident and the general public is not in danger.
