Two Hurt, One Ticketed in Pike County, Illinois Crash

Two passengers are hurt and one driver is ticketed in a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Pike County, Illinois Highway 13 and Highway 106 at 10:20 a.m. Friday.

The Illinois State Police reports that Matthew Gunterman of Nebo was eastbound on County Highway 13 in a pickup truck pulling a trailer.
Gunterman failed to stop at the intersection and struck a westbound pickup, driven by 57 year old James Cookey of Pittsfield.

Cookey’s passengers, 57 year old Carol Lee and 51 year old Nancy McDowell, both of Pittsfield, were taken by Air Evac to Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

Gunterman was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, disobeying a stop sign, no valid registration and overweight on registration.
