Terre Haute Scores Early and Often to Beat Cavemen 12-2
The Terre Haute Rex showed why they have the Prospect League's best record Tuesday night, as they knocked off the Hannibal Cavemen 12-2 at Clemens Field.
The visitors scored three times in the third inning, with second baseman Andy De Jesus driving in two with a double and third basemen Ricardo Ramirez drove in De Jesus with a base hit.
Terre Haute scored four more in the fifth, two in the sixth and three in the ninth.
Hannibal scored single runs in the seventh on a sacrifice fly by center fielder Justin Blechle, and in the ninth on a double by Blechle.
The win boosts the Rex's overall record to 38-11, while the Cavemen drop to 12-35.
