Take a Short Walk Through Louisiana MO’s Historic Churches Sunday
Here's a riddle - where can you go to see seven beautiful, historic churches, with seven different reminders of the true reason for the season, and the farthest you'll have to walk from one church to another is about two blocks?
The answer: the annual Mid-Town Church Walk in Louisiana, Missouri this Sunday.
The Louisiana Area Historical Museum sponsors the event. It's free to the public, although if you'd like to make a donation to the museum, they would appreciate it very much.
The walk begins at 3 p.m.
The church's on the walk include:
Bethel AME Church - on the National Register of Historic Places
First Christian Church - a modern sanctuary and very welcoming acoustically
First Baptist Church - featuring a large pipe organ
Centenary United Methodist Church - they also brag about their pipe organ
Calvary Episcopal Church - known for their stained glass windows
First Presbyterian Church - officially the last stop on the tour, although you can visit the churches in any order you like.
Each church will have about a 15 minute program for you to enjoy.
We're told that each church practices for weeks to get their programs just right - except for First Presbyterian, where they basically just take requests for 15 minutes. But, they also feature cider and cookies for the walkers.
Can't think of a better way to take a Sunday afternoon stroll than the Louisiana Mid-Town Church Walk.
