5th grade, 8th grade and high school art students in Hannibal will be honored during the closing reception of 'Young Masters,' an annual art exhibit on display through April 29 at the Hannibal Arts Council.

The annual Young Masters art exhibit, featuring the works of student artists from Hannibal schools, is now on display at the Hannibal Arts Council. The exhibit will be open for viewing during regular gallery hours through April 29.

Artists interested in setting up booths for the upcoming Downtown Hannibal Art Fair and/or the 2014 Autumn Historic Folklife Festival should be aware of approaching deadlines for applications.

When I first heard about this I thought it was pretty weird. Then I watched the video. It's still weird, but it's also sort of impressive. Two artists with backgrounds in carpentry have built two fully-functioning apartments: one on the outside of a giant hamster wheel, and one on the inside.

Because of the winter storm, the Hannibal Arts Council is allowing area photographers an additional day to drop off entries for the first open exhibit of 2014, which will begin with a reception on Saturday, February 8. The photography exhibit 'Through Their Eyes' is open to both amateur and professional photographers.

Winners of the annual City of Quincy Arts Awards were honored on Jan 10 at the noon meeting of the Exchange Club at Stoney Creek Inn in Quincy. Each winner will be receiving original artwork created by students in Blaine Barnes’s art classes at Quincy Senior High School. The students who are awarding their framed artwork are Katlyn Grott, Bethany Long, Mary Jane Meirose and Kyle Warning.

The Hannibal Arts Council will once again be hosting their annual exhibit '99 Bucks or Less' during the holiday season. This show features the work of a variety of artists, and each piece of artwork is priced at $99..or less!

Artists living within a 50-mile radius of Quincy are invited to compete in the upcoming Mary S. Oakley & Lee Lindsay Artists Showcase at the Quincy Art Center. The juried exhibition will open on Saturday, December 7 and be on display through January 19, 2014.
