St. Louis, Missouri No Longer America’s Most Dangerous City, But
This might be the most perfect example of good news that isn't really good news. A brand new ranking of the safest cities in America says that St. Louis, Missouri no longer holds the crown as the most dangerous city in America, but...
Study Finds just shared the news of the safest cities in America. I'll save you some time if you're looking for St. Louis. It's nowhere near the top. It's based off of a WalletHub study that looked at numerous factors instead of some isolated 5-year-old FBI list and it's not just crime. They looked at natural disaster risks, home and community safety and financial situations.
Now for the good news, bad news part of our program. It's Memphis, Tennessee that gets the new "worst place ever" title (or feel free to insert your own bad place label). They're ranked #182 as the worst metro in this study.
Don't get too happy yet, St. Louis
It's not exactly halos and rainbows for the Gateway City as St. Louis is ranked at #163, still near the bottom on the least safe part of this list. Get this. St. Louis was given a favorable score when it comes to potential natural disasters. Let's don't tell them about the New Madrid Fault, okay?
One concerning final thought. St. Louis is listed as having one of highest rates of vehicular fatalities. It's actually tied for last along with Memphis and several other places.
Let's take this for what it is. Not great news for St. Louis, but better than being the worst in America. Yay.
