Illinois Woman Driving in a Funeral Procession Shot and Killed
Our modern world can be a cruel place. That sadly was true on Saturday as an Illinois woman who was driving in a funeral procession was shot and killed on her way to the cemetery.
I saw this sad story shared this morning by CBS Chicago who reported 34-year-old Rhomesha Turner had just left a church in Dixmoor, Illinois. Dixmoor is a small community in the southern part of the Chicagoland area. During the funeral procession her car careened over a curb and ran into an adjacent building.
The CBS Chicago report says that authorities found the Illinois woman in her car with bullet wounds. There is no known motive as to why this shooting occurred as police are now investigating.
This is the building in Dixmoor, Illinois that her car collided with after shots were fired where all that remains are boards covering the outside wall damage and one lone shoe from the woman that was left outside.
It's unclear if this was just a random tragedy or if someone was targeting her specifically.
