Snow, Mixed Precipitation Expected to Ring in the New Year

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for all of northeast Missouri and western Illinois from early Saturday morning until midnight Saturday.
The amount of snow and the extent of mixed precipitation expected depends on where you are.
Here's the breakdown:
Hancock County IL and Clark County MO
Winter Storm Watch from 6 a.m. till midnight Saturday. Heavy snow is possible, with total accumulations of 4 to 7 inches possible.
Adams and Brown counties in IL, Knox, Lewis, Shelby and Marion counties in MO
Winter Storm Watch from 3 a.m. till midnight Saturday. Heavy mixed precipitation possible. Total snow accumulation of 4 to 6 inches, sleet accumulation up to a tenth of an inch and ice accumulation around a ten of an inch possible.
Pike County IL and Monroe, Ralls, Pike and Audrain counties in MO
Winter Storm Watch from 3 a.m. till midnight Saturday. Heavy mixed precipitation possible. Total snow amounts of 2 to 4 inches, sleet accumulations of one to two-tenths of an inch and ice accumulation of one to two-tenths of an inch possible.
Difficult travel and slippery road conditions are possible through the day Saturday.
Forecasters are saying that those south of the St. Louis area will see mainly rain.
