Yes, Many Really Do Believe Snow Possible in Missouri Next Week
Computer models are a funny thing. They rely on a many variables and even if just one changes, the forecast is probably invalid. That being said, there are many models and some forecasters that do believe that snow is possible in Missouri next week.
I mentioned last week that winter could have a Valentine's Day week surprise for Missouri. The Illinois Storm Chasers seem to agree with this graphic they shared on Sunday on their Facebook group.
Theirs is not the only model showing that 'frozen precipitation' could happen in Missouri the week of February 12, 2024. This one that I shared last week shows inches of snowfall are possible. Note this is not the most recent run of this model.
What does the National Weather Service say?
If you look at their 10-day forecast, they still show above average temperatures for Missouri and most of the Midwest.
Accuweather's forecast for next week in Missouri shows falling temperatures and a slight chance of moisture, but no snow is mentioned.
Where does that leave us?
My wife the meteorologist still does NOT believe next week will involve snow for Missouri, but she's now watching the systems as there is a chance. That's my takeaway from what the Illinois Storm Chasers shared. Be aware that there's a small chance winter precipitation could affect us Valentine's Day week, but I certainly would not use the word "likely".
I do agree with them that winter is not done with Missouri yet though.
