A Shelbyville man is dead following a fiery collision involving two trucks.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says trucks driven by 59-year-old Randy Parsons of Shelbyville and 25-year-old Alexander Rowinski of Lancaster collided and caught fire at 4:25 Wednesday afternoon on Missouri 156 two miles west of Novelty.

Troopers say the Rowinski truck pulled into the path of Parsons vehicle. Troopers say Parsons was pronounced dead at the scene by Knox County Coroner Jeffery Doss.

Rowinski sustained serious injuries. He was taken by helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia.
