Seven Drug Arrests in Hannibal
Use of two search warrants by Hannibal Police results in seven drug related arrests.
Hannibal Police say their Anti Crime Enforcement Squad used the warrants following an investigation into the distribution and use of methamphetamine. Officers searched a residence in the 2600 block of Carroll Street. Numerous items were seized including a loaded firearm. Two pit bulls were found and transported to the Northeast Humane Society. Police say 31 year old Heather Powell of Bowling Green, 26-year-old Erica Gray of St. Peters, 28-year-old James Judd of St. Charles, and 47-year-old George Wendt of Robertsville on drug related charges. Wendt was also arrested on two misdemeanor warrants and two felony warrants. Police say when the home owner and a male companion arrived, 27-year-old Brandi Nelson and 31-year-old Jon Morton were also arrested on drug related charges. Police also used a search warrant in the 900 block of Earnest where meth and drug paraphernalia were located. That search resulted in the arrest of 62-year-old Janet Morton for possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. All seven individuals were taken to the Hannibal Police Department. Six were released pending a review by the Marion County Prosecutor. Wendt was taken into custody on the outstanding warrants.
