Hannibal Man Charged with Drug Trafficking, Evidence Tampering
A Hannibal man was arrested Wednesday and a number of drug-related charges were filed Thursday.
Hannibal Police report Anti-Crime Enforcement Squad officers executed a search warrant Wednesday in the 2100 block of Gordon as the result of an investigation into the distribution of fentanyl.
As officers approached the residence, 27 year old Billy Williams, Jr. fled the scene on foot, taking items from his pockets and dropping them on the ground as he ran.
After a brief foot pursuit, Williams was taken into custody without incident.
Among the items Williams dropped during the chase included what are believed to be cocaine and about 100 doses of fentanyl.
The search of the home revealed a large quantity of marijuana, a digital scale and items used for the distribution of narcotics.
Williams had been out on bond on Marion County Drug Trafficking charges from 2021.
The 10th Judicial Circuit of Marion County Thursday issued warrants for Williams, charging him with trafficking drugs, delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence.
Williams remains in the Marion County Jail on $100,000 bond.
