Illinois State Police report one DUI arrest following a roadside safety check.

The roadside check was held late Friday night and early Saturday morning in Adams County. Authorities report two other alcohol/drug arrests, five driver’s license offenses and one registration arrest.

Roadside safety checks are designed to remove alcohol impaired drivers but enforcement action is often taken against a variety of other offenses. Illinois State Police say 40 percent of fatal crashes in Illinois are alcohol related.
