Ralls County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Death

The Ralls County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of 36-year-old Justin Smoot of Center. 

Sheriff Gerry Dinwiddie says in a press release that his department responded April 1 to a report of a death in rural Ralls County. Smoot was pronounced dead at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The incident remains under investigation.
