Quincy Police to Crack on Cell Phone Usage While Driving
Quincy Police have served notice on Illinois drivers who continue to talk on their cell phones without using a hands-free device while driving.
In a press release, Deputy Chief Doug VanderMaiden reminds drivers that talking on the phone and driving has been against the law in Illinois for the last three years.
VanderMaiden says the Quincy Police Department will be taking a more proactive approach to enforcing the law in the coming weeks.
Drivers in Illinois can use their phones as long as they use a hands-free device. Those violating the law face a fine of $120.
