According to a press release from the Quincy Police Department...

"The City of Quincy Board of Fire and Police Commission and the Quincy Police Department are pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for the position of police officer. The Quincy Police Department has 10 vacant positions we are looking to fill...Active members of the Quincy Police Department will be scheduling informational meetings in the coming weeks to allow individuals to come ask questions and pick up an application. Those dates, times and locations will be announced on the Quincy Police Department Facebook page as well as through local media. Anyone with questions is encouraged to call the Quincy Police Department at 217- 228-4470, or email us at QPD@quincyil.gov."

The press release goes on to mention that they will be accepting applications to the police department's 10 openings through the end of business on Friday, September 23rd. They also mention that they are an equal opportunity employer that encourages women and minorities to apply.

I will say that ever since I took the Citizens Police Academy class with the great men and women of the Quincy Police Department my appreciation for the police has skyrocketed. I would also add that having the chance to get to know Chief Adam Yates makes me recommend applying for this job if you're interested, he is someone I would want to work for.
