Hannibal Police assisted in the arrest of a Quincy man wanted on several charges in Illinois.

Police assisted agents of the U.S. Marshal’s Service in apprehending 29-year-old Tynell Washington of Quincy late last week. Police received information that Washington would be at 202 Steamboat Bend last Thursday. Officers arrived on scene and located Washington in the parking lot. As police approached, Washington fled on foot. He was apprehended after a short pursuit.

Washington was wanted in Illinois on warrants for armed violence, aggravated battery, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and unlawful possession of a firearm by a gang member.

Hannibal Police released Washington to the Marion County Sheriff’s Department.
