At Clemens Field Sunday night, it was the Quincy Gems over the Hannibal Cavemen 8-3.

Seven of the eight Quincy runs reached base via either the walk or hit batsman.

Cavemen pitchers walked eleven and hit three Sunday night.

Hannibal took the lead in the bottom of the first. Quincy scored four in the third, two in the fourth and two more in the sixth. Hannibal had single tallies in the fifth and sixth.

Palmyra native Aaron Stone got the win for Quincy with seven innings pitched, allowing four hits and three runs, walking five and striking out two.

The Cavemen and the Gems renew the "Battle for the Paddle" Tuesday night at Clemens Field. Game time is 6:38 p.m.
