A Quincy man has pled guilty to child solicitation charges in Pike County, Illinois.

Quincy Police report that 48 year old Jeffrey Peters pleaded guilty Tuesday to two counts of grooming and one count of indecent solicitation of a child.

As a result of a plea deal, an additional charge of distribution of harmful material to a minor was dropped.

Peters was immediately sentenced to 30 months’ probation and fined $1,000.

Peters was also ordered not to have unsupervised contact with anyone under 18, and will be required to register as a sex offender for a minimum of ten years.

Peters was arrested April 22nd following an investigation into internet conversations between an adult and a minor under age 17 in Pleasant Hill, Illinois.
