The National Transportation Safety Board Friday released a preliminary report on the plane crash that resulted in the death of an Arkansas couple in Ralls County.

The NTSB reports that Bobby and Shannon Faulkner of Greenwood, Arkansas arrived at the Mexico airport late in the day on July 26th.

Bobby Faulker told airport personnel he wanted to get an early start the next morning because he wanted to arrive at the airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin when the control tower opened at 7 a.m.

The report states the Faulkner’s left the Mexico airport at 4 a.m. and the plane crash in a bean field in Ralls County about 15 minutes later, hitting the ground in a “right wing low, nose down attitude.”

The report also says that there is no record that the pilot got a weather briefing or filed a flight plan.
