A Hannibal woman will undergo a psychiatric evaluation before facing charges in connection with a knife attack on her boyfriend.

At a court appearance Monday, Judge John Jackson approved a motion by the Marion County Prosecutor’s office that 29 year old Victoria Norell undergo a state psychiatric evaluation before her case continues.

Norell is charged with attempted murder, domestic assault and armed criminal action.

Norell is alleged to have stabbed her boyfriend, 24 year old Zac Meyer, on December 3rd at their residence at 421 Washington Street. Hannibal Police allege that Norell told officers that she thought people living in the residence were going to move her to a residential care facility, and that voices told her to kill Meyer.

Norell is in the Marion County Jail on $100,000 cash only bond.
