Bayview Bridge at Quincy Closed For 2 Hours Following Pursuit

A Quincy man is in custody following an early morning vehicle pursuit that resulted in a two hour closure for Bayview Bridge.
Quincy Police say an officer saw 23 year old Gavin Steele discharge a firearm at a house in the 900 block of North 11th shortly after 3 a-m. The officer initiated a traffic stop. Steele fled and discharged a firearm at pursuing officers on Bayview Bridge. Steele’s vehicle was disabled near 3rd and Hampshire and Steele was taken into custody. Gavin Steele is held on charges of attempted murder, aggravated discharge of a firearm, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and aggravated fleeing to elude. Bayview Bridge re-opened to traffic around 5:10 this morning.
