A trial date has been set for a Quincy man accused of shooting at police during a high speed chase.

In Adams County Circuit Court, a Wednesday status hearing for 23 year old Gaven Steele resulted in a January 14th trial date being set.

Steele pleaded not guilty in October to four counts of attempted first degree murder, two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm, and one count each of possession of a weapon by a felon and aggravated fleeing to elude a peace officer.

Steele is alleged to have fired at a house on North 11th Street in August, then firing at three law enforcement officers during a chase on the Bayview Bridge.

Steele is in the Adams County Jail.
