After near record breaking cold over the weekend, a more seasonal weather pattern is forecast for northeast Missouri and western Illinois this week.

The Hannibal Filter Plant reported low temperatures of 39 Thursday and 40 Friday and Saturday, all of which came close to the record lows for those days. The good news was that the highs warmed up into the 70s, making for a very pleasant weekend.

Temperatures continue their warmup Monday, with the National Weather Service calling for a high of 77 Monday, 86 Tuesday and 84 Wednesday. Once we get to mid-week, a pattern of highs from the mid 70s to low 80s and lows from the mid 50 to low 60s should settle in.

Officially, there is a chance of rain in the forecast from Tuesday night through the beginning of the Memorial Day weekend Sunday. Right now, though, NWS is listing the chance of rain as no more than 30 percent.
