After a stormy Saturday night in northeast Missouri and western Illinois, the coming week calls for the possibility of more storms and then cooler temperatures.

A number of severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings moved through the area Saturday night. The worst of the storms went to the south of the immediate Hannibal-Quincy area, with the Hannibal Filter Plant recording just three-tenths of an inch of rain Saturday.

Forecasters say that, with a cold front moving through the area later today, severe storms could happen late this afternoon into tonight. Large hail and damaging winds are a possibility.

With the coming of the cold front comes a drop in temperatures. After a high of 84 Monday, highs the rest of the week are not expected to get out of the 60s, with lows in the 40s.

There is also rain in the forecast Tuesday, and then Wednesday into Thursday.
