Drivers in Missouri won’t have to worry about work in most construction zones over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

MODOT says the majority of work zones will shut down from noon on November 26 to just after midnight on December 1. However, state workers will be monitoring signal timing Friday at intersections near major shopping centers.

MODOT and IDOT offer traveler information websites and telephone numbers. The American Automobile Association predicts more than 46 million people will travel 50 miles or more during the holiday weekend. That’s the highest volume in seven years.
