It's almost like a game show in Missouri. It's the guessing game where everybody makes a prediction about when the state will get its first real snowfall. Farmer's Almanac thinks it knows the answer about whether or not Missouri will get that snow on or before Thanksgiving in their brand new outlook.

I will confess that I get both of the Farmer's Almanacs confused. Yes, there are two of them. There's the "new" Farmer's Almanac and then there's the "old" Farmer's Almanac. This new outlook for Thanksgiving comes from the "old" one.

They don't divulge the exact science they used to make their annual weather forecasts, but many believe it involves cycles of the moon and also the sun. All I know is they have a prediction about what Thanksgiving will be like in Missouri this year.

Their map shows Missouri should be in for a spectacular Turkey Day this year.

Here's Farmer's Almanac's exact words for what Missouri can (allegedly) expect:

"Temperatures will be sunny throughout the Central U.S., with mostly warmer-than-normal temperatures from the Upper Midwest (Minnesota and Wisconsin) through the Heartland (Iowa, Missouri, Kansas) all the way to Texas and Oklahoma."

This doesn't mean Missouri won't see a dusting of snow prior to Thanksgiving, but considering the fact that even the National Weather Service is forecasting warmer than normal temperatures for Missouri this Fall, that doesn't seem likely.

I fear that me sharing this will be like famous last words. If we get a sudden dump of snow on Thanksgiving Eve, I'll deny that I ever had anything to do with this prediction.
