A pursuit late Monday morning in Randolph County ends with an officer involved shooting.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says a Randolph County deputy attempted to stop and SUV on a county road around 11 a-m. The vehicle drove off and was pursued by deputies along Route B-B and US 24 east of Huntsville. The vehicle stopped after it ran over stop sticks at US 24 and Route C. A male suspect exited the vehicle and fled on foot. During the foot chase… police reports say the suspect displayed a firearm and fired toward officers. Randolph County deputies returned fire and the suspect sustained at least two gunshot wounds. The injured 34 year old man from Moberly was taken to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of serious injuries. A female passenger was detained for questioning. No law enforcement agents report injuries.
