Missourians will consider an early voting proposal on next Tuesday’s ballot.

Constitutional Amendment 6 would set up an early voting period of six business days prior to general elections. There would be no early voting on Saturdays or Sundays.    However, the amendment says early voting would be allowed only if the state legislature and the governor appropriate money to handle increased costs.

Projections estimate the bill at two million dollars for start-up and 100 thousand dollars per election.    A simple majority vote is required for passage.
