Weekend rain to our north means a rise on the Mississippi River over the next week.
The National Weather Service Hydrologic Prediction Service says the river will rise steadily this week from its current level at 12.59 to 17.7 feet at Hannibal by next Saturday evening with the river back below flood stage a week after that. Flood stage at Hannibal is 16 feet. The Mississippi is forecast to crest early next Sunday morning at Quincy at 19.9. Quincy’s technical flood stage is 17 feet.
