FBI Looking for Illinois Man Who is Now a Murder-for-Hire Suspect
It wasn't that long ago when a victim was fatally struck by several gunshots while leaving a youth center in Illinois. Now, there's a suspect in this murder-for-hire case who's on the run being sought by the FBI.
According to a bulletin from the FBI, this Illinois man is wanted for his role in what they call "Racketeering - Attempted/Conspiracy to Murder/Kidnap" during an attack on January 27, 2022 as the victim was leaving the Youth Peace Center in the Roseland neighborhood of Chicago. The suspect they are searching for is Preston Powell. He is considered armed and very dangerous.
Here's the poster shared by the FBI out of Chicago on the warrant issued for his arrest from just a few weeks ago.
If you know the whereabouts or have any information about Preston Powell, you can submit a tip to the FBI online. You should not attempt to approach this individual if you see him or think you see him as he is considered armed and dangerous.
It's unclear what role the FBI believes Mr. Powell played in that fatal shooting in October of 2022. Their allegation is that he was a part of the conspiracy that led to the death based on the charges shared.
