As winter enters its last week, at least on the calendar, the chance of rain is with us to start the week and for Palm Sunday weekend in northeast Missouri and western Illinois.

National Weather Service forecasters say the week starts with a dense fog advisory through mid-morning Monday. Slight chances of rain with a thunderstorm possible are in place Monday night and Tuesday.

Sunny to partly cloudy conditions are predicted from Tuesday night through Friday. Another chance of rain moves in Friday night through Saturday night, with the best chance of rain Saturday.

High temperatures for the week start in the upper 60s Monday, peak in the mid 70s Tuesday and slide from the low 60s Wednesday to around 50 for the weekend.

Lows start in the low 50s Monday, dropping to the low 40s Tuesday and settling into the mid 30s through the weekend.

Just so you know, spring officially arrives at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, March 19.
