A Kansas man was arrested Tuesday on a variety of drug and weapons related charges in Pike County, Illinois.

The Illinois State Police report that a trooper pulled over 35 year old Matthew Snyder of Overland Park, Kansas on Interstate 72 because he was not wearing his seatbelt.

As a result of the traffic stop, troopers learned that Snyder’s license was suspended, he couldn’t provide proof of insurance and the license plates on his Jeep were registered to another vehicle.

A search of the Jeep revealed suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and an AR15-22 rifle with a silencer.

In addition to the license, registration and insurance violations, Snyder was charged with unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a silencer, possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.
