An Adams County jury has ruled that a Quincy man is a sexually violent person.

In a press release Monday, Attorney General Lisa Madigan announced the jury’s finding in the case of 57 year old Donald Pruett.

The judge in the case ruled that Pruett remain in the custody of the Illinois Department of Human Services for treatment. He will be held in the Sexually Violent Person Treatment and Detention Facility in Rushville, Illinois pending a dispositional hearing next March.

Pruett’s history of sexual abuse of children goes back to 1999, when he was alleged to have abused a six year old girl left in his care.

He was sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison for aggravated sexual abuse of a child under the age of 13 in 2013.
