Jessica Ellsworth Makes First Court Appearance Tuesday

One of the people charged in connection with the death of a Monroe City woman last week made her first court appearance Tuesday morning.

37 year old Jessica Ellsworth of Monroe City appeared before Judge Michael Wilson in Monroe County Circuit Court.

Ellsworth is charged with tampering with evidence in the death of 32 year old Amanda Johnston a week ago.

Ellsworth’s motion to be released on bond was denied. She is scheduled to be back in court August 18th.

29 year old Jerry Asbell, also of Monroe City, is charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action in the case.

Asbell’s first court appearance was continued.
