Five Who Attempted Adams County Jail Escape in Court

The five men who tried to escape from the Adams County Jail last week made their first court appearances Monday.

46 year old Brian Dyer, 22 year old Patrick Lambert, 29 year old Cody Felker, 35 year old William Brewer and 29 year old Jeffrey Schmidt are all charged with attempted escape, conspiracy to escape and criminal damage to state property.

The five are alleged to have dug and scraped mortar and removed bricks from a wall inside the jail between May 2nd and May 8th, when deputies received information that several inmates were planning an escape.

Dyer is being held on $1-million dollars bond. Lambert’s bond is set at $150,000. Felker, Brewer and Schmidt are being held on $75,000 bond each.

The five are back in court for a preliminary hearing May 20th.
