There is a hat in the ring for the 2016 Hannibal Mayor's race.

Former Hannibal Police officer and current city council member James Hark says he’s running for Mayor of Hannibal. The announcement came at a Wednesday press conference. James Hark says his father, Roy Hark will not seek re-election. Roy Hark has served five terms, a total of 15 years as mayor. The next municipal election is in April of 2016.

James Hark served as a Hannibal Police officer for 22 years prior to his retirement. Roy Hark was with the Hannibal Fire Department in a number of positions including fire chief before his successful run for mayor 15 years ago.
