194 Missouri Stores Closing the Same Day — Here’s Why It’s OK
I have seen some very alarming headlines lately that have been shared on social media about a huge amount of stores closing on the same day. I don't understand the panic, but let's put everyone's mind at ease about the 194 Missouri stores that will be closing simultaneously soon.
When most people hear about a store closing, this is what comes to mind
Let's start with the facts. Yes, more than 194 stores in Missouri will be closing simultaneously in November. Sounds apocalyptic, doesn't it? Well, everyone can calm down because the day hundreds of Missouri stores are closing is called Thanksgiving. I know that it's at least 194 stores since there are 36 Target stores in Missouri and 158 Walmart stores in the state. Since at least 2020, both big box stores made the decision to give their employees Thanksgiving off to spend with their families. That's a very good thing especially considering the sheer terror that can be Black Friday the day after.
I must confess that I've laughed out loud at some of the alarming posts about all these Missouri stores closing on the same day. Is it some type of Illuminati plot? Nope. It's just big brands realizing that they need to allow their employees some down time before they subject them to the raucous shopping crowds the day after Thanksgiving. Repeat after me. It's all gonna be fine. Exhale now.
